Introductory Video to a DoSt-I Project on Dante and Islam

What
A series of videos with Italian, Turkish, and English subtitles to mark the Dante anniversary and 101 years since the publication of Asín Palacios‘ controversial study, Dante and Islam: Islamic Eschatology in the Divine Comedy.

Why
The goals are to facilitate mutual understanding between people of Christian and Muslim cultures and, in particular, to promote knowledge and generate interest regarding:
– The cultural exchange between Christianity and Islam in its contents, modalities, and impact;
– Similar aspects of Christian and Islamic eschatology;
– Dante and his time.

For Whom
The video content will be accessible not only to scholars, but also to high school/university students and interested general audiences.
