Translating Utopia
Tommaso Campanella and the City of the Sun
Not a purely visionary philosopher, an interpreter in his own way of Machiavelli and Galileo, Campanella looks to a possible world where the reasons of politics and modern science can find renewed support in the word of a God, who is not mere ‘geometer’. This interweaving of motives is the plot of the City of the Sun.
This event has been organized in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute.
