The Image of Francis in the Teaching of Pope Francis

The lecture, titled “The Image of Francis in the Teaching of Pope Francis – Francis as a Model for Interreligious Dialogue?”, will be dedicated to the presence and significance of the figure of Saint Francis of Assisi in the magisterium of Pope Francis, with a particular focus on the implications of this spiritual and cultural heritage for interreligious and intercultural dialogue in the contemporary world.
Among the foremost scholars of church history and contemporary Catholicism, Daniele Menozzi is Professor Emeritus of the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa and a member of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. His research has focused in particular on the relationship between the Catholic Church and the political, social, and cultural transformations of the modern and contemporary eras.
The event is organized by the Italian Cultural Center in collaboration with DoSt-I.
