Conference Series 2025 “Contemporary Religious Architecture in the Mediterranean World”
Michele Badino
The church of Bose
Monk Michele Badino will introduce the church of the Bose Monastery. Founded in the 1960s near Turin, the Bose Monastery is an ecumenical community dedicated to prayer, work and the study of the Holy Scriptures, in accordance with the monastic traditions of both the West and the East. Built in 1998, the church features a simple and unadorned design with a large choir section where monks and nuns can pray together.
The conference will be the eighth meeting in the series on ‘Contemporary Religious Architecture in the Mediterranean World,’ jointly organised by Dost-I (Dominican Study Institute-Istanbul) and the Sociology Department of Istanbul Medeniyet University, with Associate Professor Erhan Berat Fındıklı as project manager, and with contributions from Depo Pergamon, Istituto Italiano di Cultura – Istanbul and NCCMR, (Network of Centres for Christian-Muslim Relations).
The conference will be held in Italian and simultaneously interpreted into Turkish.
