Ibn Battuta, Marco Polo and the Other
The video of the conference (in English and Turkish)
In the last appointment of the conference series ‘Middle Ages on the Move‘, a project developed by Federico de Renzi, Simone Costanzo and Dost-I, we talked of the literary side of travel together with Cristiano Bedin and Marco Di Branco.
We began our journey with the Muslim Ibn Battuta and the Christian Marco Polo and then we travelled into the future between reality and fantasy. Cristiano Bedin talked in Turkish about the strange, unusual and fantastic in travel literature with particular reference to Marco Polo and Evliya Çelebi, while Marco Di Branco presented in English the travelogue of Ibn Battuta.
